How has the internship been the same as and/or different than your expectations?

it different to my expectations,before i was thinking the internship was very exciting and challenge for me. But now i feel not that interesting. some time you will feel Morose. some time i was happy to do something will. Because i can learn some skill.

What is similar and different about the culture of the school environment versus the workplace environment? What new skills have you learned that apply to the workplace?

in my workplace, the worker from different country and has different culture. but everyone was friendly and kindly.they help each other and play with each other. everyone was happy in the office. i have learn what be kind to everyone and help people.

What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers? How have you grown as a result of interacting with professional adults?

we like friend. after few mouth we will be like that. because the environment can change a person.

What challenges at the internship have you faced that you have overcome and how did you overcome them?

sometime i don't understood what people tolking, it mean the language problem.it was very chanlenge for me. so l need to learning as fast as in English.

What challenges have you faced in school as a result of the altered schedule and how are you handling them?

i don't have problem with it.

What goals are you working to accomplish during the remainder of the internship?

doing my best and work hard ,try to learing more skill for my life.

What new things have you learned about New York City?

the new life in new york city, i need to work hard in here and understand the different culture.

In march 26, we have a big activity what call 2008 city adcocacy day. so we need to be ready during this two day. in this day, my mentor give me same important job. i was doing the list of the council member. it was important for my organization. it well tell the people who are the council member and what is the council member support.

I was leave early in 8:00 in the morning. i taken 6train to go to down-manhattan where battery park.first we gathering at there, after that we march to city hall park. then rally at city hall park.
there are more than 1ooo people gather in city hall park. In the city hall park, we shout our slogan and some council member presentation in the middle of people.

I learn a lot of information about internship
-What is your greatest fear about internship?

I was fear about how to chose the internship, what did i need to do in the internship and when i went to interview.

i hope what i have get more experience and new skill for m life.

i don't know what in my internship site, but i just want to do something about accounting and math.

Second Week Assignment

What did you do during your second week?

almost like first weed do some thing about copy and organize paper.

How was it different than the first week?

same thing.

What is something that you really like about the internship?

the person who work there. they keep very kind and friendly for me.

What is something you dislike about the internship?

i didn't like the first day because we did not have anything to do.

Third Week Assignment

During this Third week I have done so far. in this week i mostly work in the project call scanning.
my mentor tell my what this week you will work with my worker.her name is jacki- who teached us how to scanning. i base on her step to do the work. the first, we need to find out what kind of folder we need. so we go to other room what has all of important Documents in there. we need very carefully to work on this. then she just tell us which part we need to scanning, so we taken it out and bring to the scanning machine. then just put one part of documents' paper to the machine. press the scan and chose the user jwong to save to this computer. after that i will go to the computer to rename this file and put it on other computer what name Liu. so all of this is my job in this week.there are too much paper.make me feel tire. but i m still like this job. so thanks MR. andrew and check my assignment and revert ot me.

Tell a little about your mentor.

My mentor's name is Frances Liu who work in this organization. She was kind and help everybody. She can explains everything very clear to me so that i didn't feel confuse.

What happened on the first day?

In the first day, they taking us to their office and introduce the worker. Then my mentor tell us about their job and ask us to know what you want to do. Also they take us to join the meeting.

What kinds of things have you done so far?

I have done in help my mentor to make copy and organized paper.

What were some of the highlights of the first week? (Memorable moments, cool things...)

meeting all of organizational people and introduce myself and participating in the meetings.
